PROLOTHERAPY
Prolotherapy is an regenerative injection used to repair arthritic joints, and strengthen injured ligaments or tendons. The procedure involves injecting a proliferant solution (typically 12.5-25% dextrose) with a local anesthetic (lidocaine) into damaged connective tissue.
How does it work?
Prolotherapy treatment induces a controlled, localized inflammation at the desired site of injury which stimulates the body to repair the tissue.
Prolotherapy typically involves a series of 2-6 treatments at 3-6 week intervals. Benefits from this treatment are typically noticed 2-4 weeks after the first or second treatment.
When is Prolotherapy a good fit?
Pain due to ligament laxity
Joint Osteoarthritis
Back and neck pain from chronic poor posture
Pain from overuse- i.e. “tennis” and “golfer” elbow
Chronic pain from ligament or tendons caused by sprains or strain
The Regenerative Institute (TRI) delivers exceptional, cutting-edge treatments for orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries. Rather than temporarily improving an injury or arthritic joint with a steroid injection, TRI specializes in using Platelet-Rich Plasma, Prolotherapy, Hyaluronic acid, or Growth-Factors/Cellular-Matrix to provide sustainable, long-lasting results. These interventional injections recruit the body's innate capacity to heal and promote remodeling of injured tissues. Ultrasound guidance is used when applicable to provide precise needle placement during a procedure--making procedures less invasive, less painful, and more pharmacologically effective.
Our procedures are:
Outpatient
Address “root” injury or problem
Minimally Invasive
Little to no down time utilizing active recovery
Completed with local anethesia
Ultrasound Guided
INTERVENTIONAL SPORTS AND PHYSICAL MEDICINE
Restore Function.
Get back to the bike, the slopes, or the golf course: back to the life you love. Sports Injuries, Musculoskeletal Injuries, or acute trauma can leave a legacy of dysfunction and pain in the body. We are dedicated to helping you restore your function by offering cutting edge treatment that maximizes your potential to heal.
ULTRASOUND GUIDANCE
TRI uses Ultrasound Guidance to ensure precise needle placement, thereby maximizing the effectiveness of procedures. Ultrasound can not only help in diagnosing various musculoskeletal injuries, but can help guide injections, ensuring precise placement of injected medication (PRP, Hyaluronic Acid, Growth Factors/ECM, 5% dextrose, or Prolotherapy). It's fast, simple, and provides real-time imaging to get the job done. There is no radiation emitted when using ultrasound–-ultrasound sends and receives sound waves which ultimately create an image on a screen.
